Name of Council

Somerset Coucil

Issue Information

Installed last week, everything was working fine. Went through a collection on Tuesday, however the days until collection went to -1 and now has move into a unavailable state. Looking through the entities it does state that the entity information is no longer being provided via the intergration

Verification

  • I searched for similar issues at https://github.com/robbrad/UKBinCollectionData/issues?q=is:issue and found no duplicates
  • I have checked my address/postcode/UPRN works on the council's website
  • I have provided a detailed explanation of the issue as well as steps to replicate the issue
  • I understand that this project is run by volunteer contributors therefore completion of this issue cannot be guaranteed

Ran a reconfiguration on the intergration, and it seems to have now pulled the new data and has now updated the new data and shows the correct times. Should this not pull fresh information by itself?

It usually does if you leave it

Hi and thanks for the response. It has done it again this week where the entity for the recycling has gone unavailable after a collection has taken place. It was collected on Tuesday, and by today it has gone unavailable again. When does it usually pull fresh data points through??

Should be whenever the interval time is, though I don't work on the custom component part so couldn't really say

Have you checked the council website for your address at the time when your entities go unavailable?

If the council website no longer shows any data for that bin type, then that may be the reason why your entities go unavailable.

If you can post some logs, we can help troubleshoot

I have a similar issue where the entities go unavailable. The council no longer provides the data for that bin type for that week.

The council is South Lanarkshire

I'm assuming not all councils will provide JSON data for bin types that aren't being collected that week. Maybe some logic can be added to keep entities active even if they haven't been updated for two weeks, or make this a setting you can customize when setting things up?
