Some first steps tackling all #1, #2 and #3

There has been some untested progress on this one. ODE has not been fully integrated yet, but all placeholder functions are there. The custom physics have been implemented but have not been integrated to the system and have not been tested. As soon as progress is made on this one on either end, issues #1 and #2 will be closed and work will be continued towards closing this one.
