Disconnect Devices Server Side

There isn't an obvious way to simulate the GATT server disconnecting from client devices. How can this be achieved? This is important so that a client device that improperly connects to a server cannot hold on to the connection indefinitely.

This is tricky because Android supports this but as far as i know IOS and MacOS does not support programatically disconnection
