[Feature Request] Remote wipe #3977
Comments
Agree this would be good. Not a perfect solution to removing messages obviously, but good at preventing a casual observer. When opening the Signal Desktop application after it has been removed as a remote device, it should immediately wipe all stored data. |
I completely agree with this one. If you have unlinked a desktop instance, you generally want all content to disappear. |
I definitely do not want the desktop to automatically delete messages after unlinking. Among other reasons, unlinking happens unintentionally after some time of not using the desktop, it would be not good to lose all message history. |
Message history is on your primary device (phone) and is syncornized when you re-connect a desktop version. |
To my knowledge, messages existing before linking are not synchronized to the desktop client. Maybe @scottnonnenberg-signal can clarify. |
Yes, you are right, but anyway for privacy I don't want my messages to be visible on clients that I have disconnected and contacts list too |
