Hey everyone, Chris here from Skeleton. Continuing our non-stop stream of announcements this week, we wanted to share a number of exciting new updates and developments with you. Let's dive in.
Skeleton Updates
Per our recent delay announcement, we promised that maintenance updates would resume for both Skeleton v2 and v3. We have new updates on both fronts.
v2 Updates
Over the last few days we've pushed a number of improvements to the v2 documentation. We've focused on onboarding, fixing broken links, and helping prepare for Skeleton v3. Specifically, we've taken steps to ensure you cannot accidentally install Tailwind v4, which will never be supported by this particular version of Skeleton.
v3 Updates
Likewise, we've updated the v3 docs for SvelteKit and Next.js onboarding to prevent issues with Tailwind v4. This also comes with number of minor improvements to the various Skeleton packages.
New v3 Documentation Homepage
Speaking of v3 doc updates, some of you may have already noticed our revised homepage design. We hope this not only provides a great way to preview the new iteration of Skeleton, but also understand how we're positioning the library going forward - with a core focus on the Design System. You'll also find plenty of other quality of life changes - such as as persisted navigation scroll position when browsing the inner page. Expect a few more updates between now and launch.
Join us at Svelte Summit 2025
Additionally, Svelte Society is hosting their next Svelte conference as an in-person event in Barcelona, Spain! Better yet, both myself and several members of the team will be in attendance! We're thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Skeleton while we're there. If by chance you have the opportunity to attend, please feel free to introduce yourself and let us know how you're using Skeleton in your own projects. We would love to meet all of you! Note that if you can't make it, the event will be streamed online. Check their website for details.
Sponsorship
If you've followed Skeleton long enough, you'll know we almost never promote our sponsorship services like GitHub and Ko-Fi. However, it's through the generosity of our amazing community that this trip is even possible. Not only do we get to represent the Skeleton community at this event, but we'll have the opportunity to listen to and meet so many of our peers from the greater Svelte community. Including folks like Rich Harris and Ben McCann.
Please understand we never expect folks to sponsor the project, but we do want to be very transparent how your contributions are used if you do. Typically this just helps cover operational costs such as hosting and services. Though sometimes we're presented with rare opportunities like this one.
We completely understand if you would prefer to wait until Skeleton v3 launches and all our new features available. However, if you have the means, please take a moment to consider sponsoring the project.
As always, thanks your continued support!
Chris
