Syntax highlighting in case of plain text

What should we be the case of syntax highlighting for "plain text"?
Even though the web-app is explicitly for Code Sharing but would be used as a paste by anyone. Should we add tick box specifying whether it's a plain text since it's bit hard to distinguish plain text from language syntax by a machine.
