Desktop port #643
Comments
Hi. I don't want to say it will never happen. But a limiting factor is that I personally only use Feeder for consuming RSS and I have no desire to use any desktop client - even if that would also be Feeder. So this would have to be work done by some interested contributor. |
This would be a very interesting project. What are your thoughts on someone creating a Feeder desktop implementation, with access to the sync server? |
I can make some documentation for the sync api. as for the desktop implementation, I think it would be less work to build it from scratch. as compared to refactoring the android app to be multiplatform and then building a desktop app. |
Vivaldi web-browser have a built-in rss feed. https://itsfoss.com/feed-reader-apps-linux/ https://noted.lol/3-of-my-favorite-foss-rss-readers-for-windows/ You can export to opml your feeds from feeder app and can import into others. |

Hi @spacecowboy and contributors,
Will there ever be a desktop port for Feeder ? planned or out of scope ?
Feeder is currently the most complete RSS reader on Android. It looks great too.
As Feeder is using Kotlin which supports multiplatform development, will there be a desktop port in the future, especially on Windows ?
Why should this be added?
