Feature or improvement you want

First off, thanks for this awesome project! I'm interested in contributing, but I found the project structure a bit confusing as a newcomer. It would be really helpful to have a CONTRIBUTING file to guide new contributors.

Some things that would be useful to include in my opinion:

• An overview of the project structure
• Guidelines for setting up a development environment (Testing/Building/etc)
• Contribution best practices (e.g., for translations, styling/lints, etc)

Why should this be added?

I'd really like to contribute features I'm personally interested in but I am quite new to Android/mobile development!
