Would you consider renaming the repository to something that is not in direct conflict with
luafilesystem? for example lua-resty-luafilesystem

In addition, it would be nice if the lua files are placed in lib/resty/lfs.lua like "all" other resty packages,

Reasons for this is to make build/packaging generic

Actually I suggest you to use lfs instead. lfs is battle-tested in multiple platforms. This project is only a toy project and I named it as luafilesystem just for fun.
