Configure System Configuration Variables

Tool/Feature	Description
Configure Preparation Types	The user should be able to customize the preparation types for the selected collection.
Configure Default Collection Object Type	The user should be able to customize the default collection object type set for a selected collection.
Configure Catalog Number Format	Specify looks at the catalog number format from the Collection Object Type; therefore, this should allow you to change the catalog number format for a type selected by the user.
Configure Embedded/Shared Collecting Event	Check if shared is being used; disable this option if records are already shared. Link to documentation.
Configure Embedded/Shared Paleo Context	Check if shared is being used; disable this option if records are already shared. Link to documentation.
Configure Paleo Context Scoping (CO, Loc, CE)	This should be a pick list. Check if Paleo Context is linked to more than one table. If so, display a warning and explanation. Link to documentation.
Define Geography Scope	Some institutions prefer to share Geography across disciplines. This would allow them to configure this option.
Rebuild Full Names in Taxon Trees	This would automatically rebuild the "Full Name" for all trees in the database.
Renumber Nodes in Each Tree	This would automatically renumber all of the tree nodes so the structure is valid (see Specify 6 behavior).

Specify 6 offers a simple utility to customize information about the collection, discipline, division, and institution such as the name, catalog number format, description, etc.

There should be a straightforward way to access these in the user tools menu or in a sort of administrative dashboard for admins.
