Description

Craft CMS and all other plugins have been updated to the latest version (Craft 3.5.7)

Neo is the only update remaining. I need to go from 2.7.12 to 2.8.7

When I run the update, It stalls and brings my site down. There's no way to recover except to restore everything from backup.

Here's the error that is produced:

`Status: Internal Server Error

Response: {"name":"PHP Compile Warning","message":"Unexpected character in input: '","code":128,"type":"yii\base\ErrorException","file":"/home/[redacted]/config/general.php","line":53,"stack-trace":["#0 [internal function]: yii\base\ErrorHandler->handleFatalError()","#1 {main}"]}`

Other information

  • Neo version:2.7.12
  • Craft version:3.5.7

Hi @ambidustrious,

A few questions:

Firstly I just want to confirm that there are no issues with the config/general.php mentioned in the error?

If no issues with config/general.php, could you please try a reinstall of your composer dependencies in case something has been corrupted?

If that doesn't resolve it, could you please let me know:

  • how far does the update get before it stalls; e.g. does it get to the prompt to apply Neo's 2.8 migration?
  • which Craft 3.4 release you were upgrading from?
  • your PHP version?

Closing due to inactivity and not being reproducible. If the error persists, please provide the previously requested information, and we'll reopen the issue.
