Link active state on iPad #28

I am using and loving this gem. I have made sure to override the ::selection to a different color other than pink.

However, while this works on every PC browser, on the iPad, every link or button gets a pink background for a few seconds when I click it.

Have you seen this before, and how do I get rid of it? Or, am I just crazy?
