Everything Toolbar is not compatible with q-dir?

When you search and select Open Folder through EverythingToolbar, the Q-DIR displays "This Computer" instead of the selected directory.

This is not a Toolbar problem as there is no default support for any file manager in Everything.
You can make a rule in the Toolbar settings to open folders with Q-Dir.
Look up the command line switches of Q-Dir to make the rule.

I am trying to understand the problem here. The command specified by Q-Dir in the Windows registry is

"C:\Program Files\Q-Dir\Q-Dir.exe" /e>%L>%D>%1>%S>

Currently EverythingToolbar replaces %1 with the desired file path. Apparently Q-Dir expects other arguments like %L, %D and %S (I didn't know about those before).

According to https://www.robvanderwoude.com/ntstart.php %L and %D should also be replaced with the file name and %S always evaluates to 1. This leads me to the resulting command, e.g.

"C:\Program Files\Q-Dir\Q-Dir.exe" /e>"C:\filename">"C:\filename">"C:\filename">1>

However Q-Dir complains with The syntax of the command is incorrect.. I am not sure how > is handled, but just leaving them out opens Q-Dir correctly. I am not sure what to do with > here.

If anybody knows more about how Windows handles these commands or has a better general understanding of the Windows shell, please let me know!

Update: Support for Q-Dir was added in 1b172c5.

The > are the redirecting function of the Cmd processor and are in no way applicable to the command line to start QDir from the Toolbar.
I don't know what strange side you are refering but here is the Authors FAQ of QDir.

I'm still not sure how to handle > as that is what I am confronted with by Q-Dir setting the registry entry for opening Directories to "C:\Program Files\Q-Dir\Q-Dir.exe" /e>%L>%D>%1>%S>.
