Current datasheet does not describe the SoC boot process clearly. The following information needs to be clarified:

  • Detailed information on each boot mode
  • What exactly does the on-chip ROM do?
  • What's the format of image to be loaded by on-chip ROM?
  • Does on-chip ROM provide capability to recover a bricked board?
  • If booting from QSPI flash, does the bootloader image has size limitation that if it execeeds that on-chip ROM is not able to load it to internal SRAM?
  • Is E24 spinning forever in the on-chip ROM?

An example that could be referenced is the FU540 manual chapter 6 "Boot Process".
