Support of contour lines #145
Comments
Hi @mattrei! Thanks for your kind words and suggestion about adding contour lines to the Walkabout style. We don't have data for this at the moment, but are interested in adding the data and styling later this year. BTW: if you have a source for contour lines, even if just for a local area, you can "mix" it into the style fairly easily by adding a new source and draw layer. |
Hi, are there any updates on this? My country (Austria) unfortunately publishes contour lines as GeoTIFFs, which seem to need a bit of pre processing to be used in Tangram. Having a (global) source like OSM would be truely great. |
Hi @mattrei, we're just finishing up a (raster) terrain tile update which uses the higher quality DEM/DTM for Austria (and has other Europe-wide improvements). We're planning on sprinting on vector contours derived from the Mapzen terrain tiles in December with a 2018Q1 launch date. |
@nvkelso due to official shutdown of Mapzen, dues this also affect the release of the updated contour lines? Thx! |
Hi, any news regarding contour lines? Height data seems to be available 🙂 |
Sadly the contour lines work at Mapzen was never completely finished or released before the shutdown. If you have your own contour data you could tile it add it as a layer in Walkabout manually. |
Ahh sorry, my bad, I didn't realize there were only normals but no elevation data. Thanks! |
Beautiful map style you have here, however for now I am missing contour lines, that show the elevation.
For instance if you go to https://geojson.io and check the OCM style than you see helpful contour lines all over the place on a bigger scale.
Is it possible to also have it for this style?
Thx for the great things you are doing!
