Can we have a claim bot?

It becomes difficult to keep track of issue if it's open to work on unless assigned.

Can we have a bot or can the issues be assigned so that we can get to know if the issue is open to work upon or not?

That is already being done in the issues track, right? I mean, you easily get to know if a particular issue is open to work on or not.
As far as assigning the task is concerned, that is something we'd have to work on by typing in manually.
So, I'm not very clear about what exactly do you mean by having a bot (?). Are you talking about the GitHub bot that Slack already has, or something?
