Heya, I discovered this over on Reddit and I now want to test it out to see what it can do. From the outset, it looks really nice and seems to be a great improvement upon the existing tools (I'm using stats as well).

Unfortunately, it's quite hard to do so because the app unfortunately always crashes after I put my MacBook to sleep. I.e., I work on it, then I close the lid, and after some minutes, I open it again, unlock the screen and when I then go into the menu bar to switch from time to percentage display, I get the infamous beach ball and Activity Monitor tells me that the app is unresponsive.

Unfortunately, even after I have (Force) Quit the app, I cannot restart it unless I literally restart my computer* — it will immediately hang again after re-launch.

This issue is 100% reproducible, it always occurs. If there are any logs etc. that would help you resolve the issue, let me know.

My system: MacBook Pro 14in, M2 Pro, 16 GB memory, Ventura 13.5.2

* Note: I just noticed that my system uptime is 10 days; I don't know if that counter resets with restarts. I'm relatively sure I rebooted yesterday, but now I don't trust my memory perfectly again.

Quick update; as I think I have scoped the bug a little more: After a day of on and off working, it appears as if it hangs only after somewhat longer periods of sleep, and it seems to work fine without a restart if you wait a little bit. Maybe it's a bug in estimating the remaining battery percentage after the program has been put to sleep in memory? I remember that eul, which I've been using before, has given me a time remaining of >1,000 hours immediately after waking from sleep, maybe there's something about that? I hope that helps.

@nathanlesage, thanks so much for the update. I just came here to let you know I have identified the issue and it will be in the next version which should be live today or tomorrow.

Hey @nathanlesage, this is live. I will let you test but please let me know if you find any more issues and if not please close this. Also if you are happy with the app and this fix, please leave a review, and/or donate.

The crash is gone now, so I am going to close the issue. However, now the icon becomes unresponsive sometimes. I just figured out that if by clicking on the icon, the indicator does not appear, "starting the app" as in clicking its icon in the dock works, i.e. there seems to be an issue with the app activation process!

Ahh it's all falling apart. There is some kind of Queue issue I am looking into that's causing all those issues. Thanks for the update @nathanlesage

Hahaha don't worry, it's not falling apart even though it may feel like this! It's just a new application, and the worst part is the time between launching it for the first time and developing a gut feeling for the differences between platforms from different users! BatteryBoi will get there just as any other app -- just take your time and don't let yourself be stressed out by the issues!

I really value that you've chosen to go the FOSS way, which is why I'll not give up on this app ;)
