  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.

App

Thunderbird for Android

App version

8.0

Where did you get the app from?

F-Droid

Android version

14

Device model

No response

Steps to reproduce

  1. Export K-9 Settings with all e-mail accounts included.
  2. Import K-9 Settings with all e-mail accounts included.
  3. There is the possibility to log into each account right now or press "Later" on the bottom, to postpone the login for all or some accounts.
  4. Press later.
  5. Never be able to actually do it later.
  6. Re-Import K-9 Settings with all e-mail accounts included and log in right away, to make it work.

Expected behavior

When I press "Later" there should be an obvious and very easily findable option to actually re-authenticate later.
I would go as far as expecting, that there is a pop-up every time I open the app, nudging me to authenticate with the remaining, not yet authenticated, accounts, with an option to press "Never show this message again" on the dialog.

Actual behavior

Press "Later" but you cannot actually re-authenticate later or the button is so hidden, my 10 minute search through all settings and buttons of the app did not find it.

I agree this should be more obvious. The way to do it now is to go to e.g. incoming server setting where you can change the password, there should be an option to sign in.
