Yes, using a common ground is fine. RC-LPF is a "kind of analog circuit", but here it is used only to generate a 2.5V signal from a 5V 1:1 PWM signal. So, we don't need to be so serious against noise.

Where do I connect the earth of the RC-LPF? As far as I know it is not the same as "ground".
