https://github.com/umarsheikh13/recent-history has the function of using the extension to display the history instead of the browser's built-in history while this Tree-Style-History extension although it relies on that, currently does not have that option.

Sorry I didn't look to see if it had already been asked among the closed tickets.
Too bad that option is not expected, Recent History has a problem with the quick search (when typing more than 3 letters in the search field) and I was hoping to have found a replacement.

@Werve Werve closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Jun 11, 2022

Actually I couldn't really understand why it is necessary to replace the history page, you can open the extension by:

  1. clicking the extension icon
  2. set shortcutting
  3. saving the extension page as a bookmark and clicking on the bookmark in the toolbar

In my case, and perhaps for all those who require this function, it is because all other ways are impractical.

That is, for

  1. I have many extensions installed and too many in the foreground (near the URL bar) so always clicking on the icon means adding an extra place in the bar (making the URL bar even smaller) and learning to always click there for the history rather than the normal submenu. Which would create some "muscle reflex" disruptions if I had to change extensions again or go back to the default history view (I don't know the proper term for a higher probability of error due to a habit to change).
  2. Same problem as described before adding behavior that could then be eliminated or otherwise inconsistent with experience in other browsers/apps although this (shortcut) is the choice I would most prefer of the current ones
  3. Have I mentioned how much clutter there is in the URL bar for extensions? Well so is the favorites one .... (😥 shame on me)

OBVIOUSLY I recognize that this is more of a personal issue than a real problem so I considered the issue not relevant and closed the ticket and didn't even want to add a response until now and I hope this explanation is helpful in case more users come up asking for this feature and , as you said, you don't understand why.
