Is there an established way to make printer-friendly pages?

I guess you'd need to create something like print.css, and I'm wondering if anyone's found a way to make this work. Whenever I try to print out a page from our twitter bootstraps-based website, it looks crazy, I'd like to have a text-only version.

Nope, we don't do anything, nor have any recommendations at this point. Browsers will naturally kill the backgrounds, but that's all we can say for now.
