It could be cool to reduce the footprint of the component.
Possible approaches:

avoid to bundle minified CSS in each built .js file
find an alternative to Base64 sprite bundled in CSS (as pointed in Flag sprite is Base64 Encoded causing a 30% increase in size #21)
