After the addition of checks for retreat config options to the netplay protocol (new fields in Packet_Init), unpatched balance and vanilla builds act strangely when connecting with a retreat-patched bmod, usually refusing to connect if the allow-retreat bmod hosts, or segfaulting if the unpatched bmod/vanilla hosts. This is not a serious problem, but may merit #ifdefs around netplay additions or possibly a low-priority bug report/patch against vanilla for better sanity checking of incoming packets.
