For variables passed in through the URL (like IDs or perhaps search terms), we should validate the datatype in the route itself.
Instead of:
@bp.route('/<exp_id>', methods=['POST']) def create_experiment():
we can do:
@bp.route('/<int:exp_id>', methods=['POST']) def create_experiment():
If no type is declared, it is assumed to be a str.
