Would it be possible to insert support for the plugin to be launched as a daemon?

+1. Being able to easily install and run this via chef/puppet scripts, start and stop this as a service will greatly increase adoption.

Hi.
We're a bit swamped at the moment so we don't have any time to work on this now. In the mean time, patches are welcome. :-)

Cannot find a single report where somebody managed to get the plugin running as a daemon. And last comment here is more than a year old. As others say; would have expected more from Varnish Software.

We don't have the resources to work on this. Fork this if you'd like. I'm pulling this down since it obviously creates frustration and nobody else is willing to spend time on this.

A big part of the problem is that New Relic lists the plugin at http://newrelic.com/plugins/varnish-software/36 as something that is functional and is supported by Varnish Software. We all need to make them aware it's very misleading and that they should either remove the page or add a big red warning on it.

Ah. Thanks. I asked Newrelic to pull the page down.
