Your use case

Users should be able to link to Thread messages the way they can link to regular messages today...

  • Share a Thread message, in the same way I can Share a Room message including a Matrix.to link
  • Links should also open Thread view when applicable

@ismailgulek The related Android issue that Danielle linked to basically states that there's no way for us to tell where the link to a thread root message was copied from: main timeline Vs thread header. That's why those links will be opened in the main timeline when followed.

In order to be able to track the source, we'd need to add custom, Element-specific, param to matrix.to links, which is not currently available/encouraged.
