solution here is that for this particular scenario (overlapping) we should cheat and push the read receipts slightly higher or the read marker slightly lower to avoid the collision. It's a bit of a nightmare though as the behaviour of both are animated, and we'd prefer they didn't have to interact...

Either that or we detect this scenario and make the read-marker narrower. This is probably safer...
