We were using a workaround for #539 where we dropped a copy of font-awesome in the static root (.../site-packages/voila/) and then patched the default template to link to it. However, that stopped working in Voila 0.2, and from what I can tell Voila will only serve static files from the template directories now. I worked around it by moving our local font-awesome into one of those directories, so I didn't investigate very long, but possibly this line is overwriting the default list that contains the static root?
