I think in w3c/did-extensions#138 we had some comments that CDDL may be representation-specific, i.e. it may not apply to some future representations, or..?

Also, I think merging #455 has brought a lot more clarity to how the abstract data model works.

Seems that we have settled on CDDL being a representation specific data definition (JSON and CBOR).
