- old mac builds are failing in CRAN on vignette builds: they can't find the specs data. This is hopefully now fixed (I can't find a good way to test it on macs, but I fixed it on a failing rhub system)
- took the opportunity to update some documentation
- trying to see if a new update process is going to work for us now too
