Ketchup development is currently on indefinite hiatus for a few reasons:

  • I don't have enough time to continue development at a reasonable pace.
  • I've come around to thinking that this is the wrong approach to adding programmability as a gameplay mechanic to KSP and that something along the lines of a visual programming language is more appropriate.
  • 0x10c, the game for which the DCPU-16 was originally created, was shelved and the community around it has largely dissolved away. Trillek, the closest thing to a successor, has produced an incompatible CPU specification.

Before stopping development I managed to get Ketchup to reach the Alpha milestone, so a v0.7.0 could be released as a true alpha. As no release was actually done, all this work is still on the development branch and has not been merged into the master branch.

When last checked there was an incompatibility with KSP v0.90 that caused the plugin not to work. The fix should be fairly simple though, although I have not looked into it in great detail.

Work also began in the topic/rocket_devices branch to implement specifications drafted by SirCmpwn.

Implementations of the monitor, keyboard, clock, floppy drive, and 3D vector display devices are included.

If you would like to continue development, please [contact me](mailto:[email protected]?Subject=Ketchup Development).
