The collection process begins with Task Scheduler, a program native to all Windows computers that allows for the repetition of a specific program or action until stopped. For the purpose of this experiment, the program calls for phoBehavioralBoxLabjackController to open every day at 5:00 am and begin recording input from the LabJack. This is then output to a common directory.
Video data is collected from Bandicam video that is set to end and start a new video file every 4 hours.
The analysis process starts with Home Cage Scan, a software that can fins and track animal behavior over long stretches of time.
We also export LabJack recording data to csv, and plot occurrences of different behavior like wheel running or nose-poking.
