Describe the bug
I have downloaded the linux version of SF2. I have Linux Mint 19.3 but I've got this error screen. Can somebody help me to let SF2 work on this linux machine? Thanks in advance.

Hi Maurizio Dall'Acqua, you could try building SF2 yourself from the sourcecode and see how that works out. The sourcecode is at https://github.com/Chordian/sidfactory2. There is a Makefile in the root of the folder with instructions.
On a long shot, you could also try the latest development version, downloadable here: https://github.com/.../suites/2695614020/artifacts/59389794
The binaries for linux are built on ubuntu. Unfortunately the development team only uses Windows and macOS and doesn't have enough linux knowledge to better accomodate linux users. In the linux spirit, I recommend building your own binaries. Maybe somebody that also runs Mint can help you with that.
I have created an issue on Github to keep track of this issue: #133.
P.S. which version did you download?

Maurizio Dall'Acqua I have been doing some googling and I think the best option is to compile SF2 yourself. It might be something to do with 32/64bit architecture but I would love to hear tips from linux users.

Compiling should be straightforward:

Michel de Bree Yeah!!! The compilation from scratch worked just fine with your instructions!
Now I have a working SF2 😁😁😁
