/subscribe page: Update generic form error message

Summary

I'm requesting a copy update to a current error message.
The error appears when form submission for the email newsletter subscription fails.

Current copy:

An error occurred
Sorry, an unexpected error in our system occurred when trying to save your subscription. If this continues to happen, you may email [email protected]. Error: <sendy_error/>

Recommended copy:

Something went wrong
An error occurred when trying to save your subscription. If this continues to happen, email [email protected].

Just checking: you're suggesting I consolidate the two tickets into one, i.e., add what's in #3084 to #3083

quick clarifications here:

• current text since October reads "Failed to subscribe, due to a server error. Please try again later." in this case. Can obviously still make the copy change, just wanted to call that out in case there was confusion
• the Figma has this implemented as an alert, rather than an inline error message below the form. Is that a requirement on this ticket as well?

Hey @doug-s-nava. I definitely saw the following message myself, but it was over a month ago and I can't remember the exact trigger:

An error occurred
Sorry, an unexpected error in our system occurred when trying to save your subscription. If this continues to happen, you may email [email protected]. Error: <sendy_error/>

But in any case, I'm glad the new copy and the change you made replaces this:

Failed to subscribe, due to a server error. Please try again later.

If I encounter that "Error: <sendy_error/> message again, I'll document it and create a new ticket.

It's fine by me that you implemented the change as an inline message. I'm not sure where the alert component in the Figma comes from, but the inline message is more appropriate anyway, imo.
