Overall looks good, but it seems like there are some critical questions (about the current MH implementation of Sendy and how the Simpler team can use it) that are still not yet answered.
Since the answers to those questions are still TBD, and the answers will affect what tool we choose to use and could lead us to not use Sendy, I would prefer to say we're not final on the ADR yet. We should mark an ADR as complete when we're certain about which approach we're going to try.

## Decision Outcome <!-- REQUIRED --> | ||
|
||
The suggested approach is to utilize Sendy and create a campaign for Simpler Grants.gov within the existing main account, leveraging existing knowledge and allowing for faster use. This allows for a faster initiation of the process. One of the most important criteria given by users of the tool, the Grants.gov Communications team, is the need to be able to send an email to the current 1M current subscribers quickly which Sendy cannot do. There are other limitations of this solution so we recommend that we select a back-up option email marketing solution for our long-term needs. |

Can we make sure we create an ADR ticket for the long-term choice of tool?

What do you think if we update this ADR with the long-term decision when that's decided? I can still create a ticket to update this one. I think we may not be able to be make a decision on the long-term tool until after our comms strategy kickoff or conversations with MicroHealth happen as it seems it would be nice to use the same tool for our all communications (NOFO, grants.gov, simpler grants.gov, etc.).

||
#### Cons | ||
|
||
- Campaigns with larged audiences or number of emails take a long time to send and a user cannot use the tool while an email is being sent. Currently, we have 1M subscribers and it takes a long time to send to that many subscribers |

Could this improve with better infrastructure for the self-hosting? I'm not sure how MH is backing the tool right now.

Yeah, they mentioned they took a couple actions to improve this. I added a sentence to include that.

It seems like there are some more open questions about Sendy, like can we integrate with MH's current implementation, can we send to individual lists, etc?

Are the "nice to haves" the ones with the asterisks? if so, Scalability should have an asterisk as well. Maybe we move all the nice to haves to the bottom of the table.
