Still DRAFT, to be finalized with @mguidon and @jsaq007.

Purpose: on s4l, we want users to see some thumbnails in the projects info and easily pick one and set it as project thumbnail.

Tentative steps (elements):

  1. We (app team?) generate a set of thumbnails (~10ish?) and put them in a Github repository (e.g. the one already used for the tutorials). To decide: do we also leave the current thumbnails we have (e.g. workbench, gtlf from s4l?)
  2. New oSPARC frontend feature: right click (or some other action) on thumbnail to select as project thumbnail
  3. oSPARC frontend updates the project thumbnail URL with the one selected from 2.

Open question: how difficult it is to also add the gltf/png preview to this workflow?

  1. Remove 3D preview
  2. 10 assets are at this GitHub link (@ofli).
  3. Make user select -> we store link in DB, preview
  4. Remove gltf preview
