@sandergg asked: did you try with several instances of the webserver?
I'm suddenly wondering, cause if the api-server talks "internally" to the webserver that means there is no stickyness right?

Since #5780 we have a separated webserver to attend api-server requests.
In addition the long-running-tasks issues due to the lack of stickiness has been addressed in #5623
