overview of what comments are and where they are

Song Info Comments

Song info comments are comments that are auto-generated from auto-checking the song info for issues. They cannot be created manually at the moment.

Viewing and responding to a song info comment

Click the View Song Info Comments button on the AutoModder menu in Song Info. A menu will pop up that will show every comment. You can then click on them to view them. This is also where you can respond to the comment.

Difficulty Comments

Difficulty comments are comments that are placed on any object in a difficulty. They can both be created manually and created via auto-checking.

Creating a comment

To create a comment, first select one or more notes. Then, press one of the keybinds for comment creation. Currently, these are Ctrl+E and Ctrl+Space.

A creation dialogue will now pop up. Here you can type your comment as well as select the type of comment you want to make. The types currently are Suggestion, Unsure and Issue. These will highlight as Green, Yellow and Red respectively.

After creation the comment will be opened. The comment will now be outlined and marked in the timeline.

Opening a comment

Comments will be automatically opened in the top right corner when the grid cursor is on the same beat as a note inside the comment. This overview has buttons for opening and editing a comment.

In addition, you can select a singular note and press the open comment keybind. Currently, this is Alt+E. You will then directly go to the view comment menu.

Responding to a comment

First, open a comment by following the information above. Then you can respond to a comment in the view comment menu. Do not forget to click Update reply when you are done.

Editing a comment

First, open a comment by following the information above. Then you can click the Edit comment button to go to the edit dialogue. Here you can edit the comment and the type of comment.

Suppressing a comment

Suppressing a comment is useful for keeping track of comments you have already replied to, or want to ignore.

Setting a comment to suppressed will change the outline to grey, and will also be included in the various text exports.
