so considering that the fork was so good that the og dev just cherry-picked most of your changes and that the og app is active again i was asking myself if you would still maintain your own version or just go on pause for a bit. i obviously love the fork and the og so would be interested in your answer, tia |

That's a good point. You're right a lot of my changes have been implemented (either cherry picked or done by themselves). So I don't know if a lot of people will continue to use it. I will probably keep on updating it with upstream changes, because there a re still changes that I made that I will continue on using, but I don't know for how long! |

ah alright good to know, i will probably still keep using your version considering that it still is more organized and better. i still dont know what the library buttons do in the og innertune (???) |

Hey @Malopieds I just wanna say that you did an amazing job at developing this app and keeping the project alive, if you choose to continue on with this fork under a different name like OpenChord I'll be happy to keep using your app as I prefer the simple UI. If at some point you want to discontinue this project I have a humble request that you allow us users to export the data from this app in a way that's compatible with the upstream app, so that we could make the switch without loosing our data. Thank you 🙏 |

I definitely agree with that UI part! This fork is overall better organized than the original. While the original is great, I find all the extra tabs, especially in the library section to be a bit less user friendly over all. And I like how the genres are on the explore page instead of taking up massive space on the home page (an inconvenience many music apps seem to have). Keep up the good work. I will continue to use this fork into the future! |
