Releases: Neotron-Compute/Neotron-32-Hardware
Now with bottom solder mask...
Four layer boards ordered
Ordered 5 off four-layer boards from JLCPCB. Changes from 1.0.0 include:
- Moving expansion connectors down to dedicated expansion area.
- Fixing parallel port header pinout.
- Preferring Manhattan to diagonal traces.
First version
This version has been sent out for manufacture. There may still be bugs!
Changes over previous versions include:
- Moving some connectors around
- Switching to a Molex SD card connector as it looks easier to solder
- Fitting push switches for power and reset
Edit: This board failed audit and was not manufacturered. The kicad scripts put too many layers in the Gerbers. I subsequently decided to go for four layer boards anyway.
Updated metadata
Added some metadata on the silkscreen, so we know what version we've built!
Edit: I had to rebuild the Gerbers as they were missing some layers. release.sh will be updated in the next release.
Fixing some placement issues
- We've rotated the SD card so you can actually get a card in the slot now :)
- We dropped the MIDI Through port to make a bit more space on the backplate.
- We switched to plastic male DE-9 connectors for the Joystick. Much more expensive, but better for the plastic female Joystick connectors.
- We started some CAD for the backplate, but it's incomplete. We will also do some CAD for the front-plate.
Cleaned up PCB layout
Replace two single PS/2 header with double PS/2 header. Part such as http://www.kycon.com/Pub_Eng_Draw/KMDGX-6S-6S-S4N.pdf.
Moved more tracks onto the 25 thou grid.
Fix up DRC errors on SD card footprint and battery holder.
Layout complete
PCB Layout is complete. Silkscreen labels have been placed.
For review before manufacture.
DO NOT ORDER - The PS/2 double stack footprint is wrong. I'm waiting on parts before I can create the correct footprint. If you make these PCBs, only the edge-most header will fit.
Release v0.6
Schematic complete.
Tidied up Atmega power and added titles to each page.
