Windows build is very slow #31

Randy reports build times up to 25 minutes (Windows 7 / 64bit, 1 year old dual-core intel Laptop). Will get additional info and a baseline build time on one of our machines.

On a Lenovo T500 (P8600 @ 2.4GHz, 6Gb of memory),after make clean, I got

20:39:33 Build Finished (took 7m:19s.930ms)

deactivating avast I got

20:50:19 Build Finished (took 6m:10s.209ms)

On an i7@930 (2.8GHz)

21:18:05 Build Finished (took 2m:13s.979ms)

Randy's issue turned out to be his anti-virus scanner. Two minutes is not unreasonable for a non-SSD system; expect about 1 minute on an OS X or Linux system with an SSD (worse if Eclipse is involved).

Six minutes and I would be looking for potential issues, but without knowing whether the above are Windows systems I'm not sure how to scale.

Much better. I will leave it open until we have a make export tutorial, since eventually that is what windows users need.
