PriceHero is a powerful web application that allows you to search for any item you desire and quickly compare prices from various sources. With the help of the Google Shop Scraper API from Apify, PriceHero fetches real-time prices and displays them in ascending order, helping you find the best deals effortlessly.
If you are able to download the ZIP file from the GitHub try the following:
- Extract the files onto your current directory
- From the current directory cd into PriceHero folder
- Run the command: [npm install]
- Run the command: [npm run dev]
- Run Test Cases: [npm run test]
Workload distribution was distributed between 3 people focusing on concentrated areas such as front-end and back-end development. We have distributed the workload as followed:

Front-end focused mainly on the design and little functionality to display to the user for best user experience when navigating through the site. Back-end handles routing and api calls that are able to talk to and grab information in order to display with the user across the various sites we are targeting. With the information we are able to grab and store it all into a dynamic database that will list: Name, Current_Price, & Before_Price.
- Visit the PriceHero website or web application.
- Enter the item you want to search for in the search bar.
- PriceHero will utilize the Google Shop Scraper API from Apify to fetch real-time prices from various sources.
- The results will be displayed in ascending order, showing the lowest to the highest prices for the item you searched for.
- Find the best deals and make informed decisions on your purchases.
