Just noticed this when testing #1534.

When editing an existing post with simple text in it, the freeform block initially thinks it's empty. This makes the layout look quite strange. As soon as you click on it / start editing, the state is correct.

I think this is a duplicate of #1488

The changes in #1539 don't also fix #1488 though, so I'm not sure it's really a duplicate. It's a different block type, too.
