I zero the line and send away the balance and the line stays.

We have discussed this. This is expected behaviour.

Trust lines must be explicitly removed by setting them to default. This can not happen if the zeroing account holds IOUs.

The suggestion was to have the client automatically issue a TrustSet when it detected a line that could be zeroed.

Can't it check after the IOU balance is 0?
