Here are the rules for the hiking events I'm organizing. I'm documenting them here as a copy from Fetlife, in case it's lost on there.
Here is a longer-form version of the rules for the hiking events that I'm organizing. These will be expanded and polished as time goes on, but fundamentally shouldn't change the intent.
- This is a munch style event.
- This means it will be vanilla dress in a vanilla environment.
- Play will NOT be tolerated.
- Please minimize any overtly kinky dress.
- Be aware that we will be on public trails with vanilla people within earshot.
- Respect boundaries
- Bring your own stuff.
- Water
- Food
- Comfortable shoes with good grip
- Hiking gear: backpack, trekking poles, etc.
- Weather protection: Sunscreen, sunshirts, jackets etc.
- Bug protection
- Etc.
- Leave No Trace.
- Pack out anything you brought in. This includes orange peels, apple cores, etc.
- Stay on the trail, and don't create shortcuts and such.
- Don't end up alone. If anything happens, at the very least let someone (ideally a hike leader) know. Ending up alone is often how people end up with Search and Rescue. (Exa mple)
- If you're injured, let someone know and we can make sure to get you down safely.
- Be responsible for your own self.
- If you encounter a wild animal on the trail, such as a snake or whatnot. Do not approach it. If that means it's blocking you from keeping up with the group, then let someone know. We can wait for you.
- If the trail becomes harder than you are able or comfortable doing, please don't risk it. There's nothing wrong with asking for help, but at the end of the day, you know your own capabilities.
- Make sure you know your body well enough to manage the weather and exertion. I'll try to provide as much detail about the hike as I can, but there's only so much I can do.
- No amplified music (not even your phone's internal speaker).
- I would prefer you to be here to socialize, but if you are the type that just wants to listen to music, please do so with headphones as to not bother the rest of the group.
- We're going hiking to be out in nature. Having amplified music alters that, and makes the decision for other people, which isn't cool.
- No pictures without consent.
- If guests are allowed for a specific event, you are responsible for your guests and their behavior.
