This will let the user to follow an intruder as he moves from one camera to another without having to navigate in and out of different monitor or timeline views to see all the action contiguously.

I assume this is not for "quick scrub" mode as quick scrub is visually scoped inside a single event - doing next prev. there will be very confusing

Correct, let's say you choose an event in the timeline somewhere in the
middle. The event plays. When the video ends, currently you see the last
frame of the event. What I am proposing is that a swipe (or some other
control input) at this point will initiate playback of the next event that
occurred without regard to monitor (i.e., could be the same or a different
monitor - whichever event is chronologically next gets played). An
opposite swipe or input shows the previous event.

In the sister ticket #48, the next/prev event of the same monitor is
shown. Otherwise it's the same idea.

This would also work if you choose the event through the events list, or
from the monitor list. But if you're looking at the thumbnail quick scrub,
this would not apply since these are in effect non-swipable animated
elements of the event list.
