AKAI S1000 usage question

Hi All,

I have updated my ZuluSCSI 1_1 with firmware 1.1.1 without issue.
My IMG files are recognized and mounted correctly (see zululog.txt)
Sampler side, the S1000 SCSI ID = 6 and whatever the SCSI Drive ID value I get this message:
! ! NO HARD DISK INTERFACE FITTED ! !

I thought it was due SCSI-2 being activated so I used the zuluscsi.ini.txt to set EnableSCSI2 = 0
But not much luck with SCSI-1

Note the SCSI card is working normally when used with an external SCSI CD player (SCSI ID 4).
But if used in conjunction with the ZuluSCSI (so both internal and external 50 pin are used) nothing is accessible.
The SCSI cable is brand new...

Is there a way to test the connection from the ZuluSCSI to the S1000 SCSI card (50 PIN) ?

@lotny88 You have to have at least one image created on your SD card, for your device to be able to see a SCSI ID on the bus. Please share your zululog here.

Thank you for the quick reply Alex.
So I used the EmptyFileCreator-win32 to create an hda image directly writen on the SD with the default SCSI ID 5 but the S1000 can not see it either.
Here is the Zululog I get (same config file as before):

Thanks, @lotny88. From the perspective of the ZuluSCSI, everything is working fine, according to the log. You would still need to format/initialize the blank volume within the S1000's user interface before it will be a valid volume it can do anything with. Have you done so? I suspect that may be the issue here.

No because I can not access this blank volume from the S1000, I get the message:
! ! HARD DISK DRIVE NOT READY ! !
Is there a way to test the SCSI connection with S1000 from the ZuluSCSI?

Eventually I found the solution.
It is very counter intuitive but flipping the cable was the solution for the sampler to access the Zulu...

Another tip for the AKAI S series:
Have the following parameter set as below in your ini file (at least this is the only way for me to avoid HD READ ERROR):

SelectionDelay = 255 # Millisecond delay after selection, 255 = automatic, 0 = no delay
PhyMode = 1 # 0: Best available 1: PIO 2: DMA_TIMER 3: GREENPAK_PIO 4: GREENPAK_DMA
EnableSCSI2 = 1 # Enable faster speeds of SCSI2
