can't choose at boot loader #153

Boot load shows up but cannot choose boot option, tried all, including shell and license, keys not responsive. Using usb wired keyboard. NumLock turns on and off the numlock light

  • Board Name puff

  • Device Name noibat

  • Shimboot Manual build 1.2.1

  • OS: [e.g. Debian 12]

Okay since you manually made the image what file did you make the image with? Also what USB are you using Micro SD, SD, USB etc.

@batman162 Try using your chromebook's internal keyboard, not an external usb keyboard.
I think it hasn't loaded drivers for any usb keyboards yet which is probably why it isn't working.

This is a chromebox, no built in keyboard. It's an HP Chromebox G3

tried with two basic usb wired keyboard. same behaviour.

update: when at the boot loader menu, if I press the power button, it appears to input "?", I see "?" for every power button presses. And I tried a 3rd, older usb keyboard. same behavior.

@batman162 Does the capslock light work? or is that also just not working?
Usb support may have been added with a firmware update to ChromeOS
