Remediation

  • Navigate to the API Gateway service in the AWS Management Console
  • Select the API Gateway instance specified in the CloudFormation template
  • Click on the 'Stages' section and select the relevant stage
  • Click on 'Actions' and select 'Enable Caching'
  • Configure the cache settings as per your requirements
  • Save the changes
  • Update the CloudFormation template to include the caching configuration

Rationale

Enabling caching for API Gateway improves performance by reducing the number of requests to the backend and decreasing response times, leading to better user experience and cost efficiency.
