Would love to not have this enabled by default on each new window that I open:

Hi @imoby ,

It was designed to be always visible/enabled by default, because that was the idea of #183 . But you still can use the same setting that was available before to hide the treeview. Define projectManager.treeview.visible: "false" and it will hide the Activity Bar icon (you must reload the window).

Hope this helps

As far as I am able to understand this request, it appears to simply be a lack of knowledge of how to use the activity bar - just right click the icon and select "hide" and it goes away.

If you ever want it back, right click on any empty area of the activity bar and check "Project Manager".

That's the officially-supported way to do this with anything in the Activity Bar in Code.

Interestingly this works fine for me. If I hide it from the activity bar either opening up a new window or quitting Code entirely and relaunching will not show the Project Manager activity bar icon until I manually reenable it.
